    Ruth N. Holmes age 97 of Springfield died peacefully in her sleep on February 26th with family by her side. Ruth was born August 24, 1921 to John and Ila Miller of New Cambria, MO. After graduating from New Cambria High School, she moved to the Baltimore, Washington D.C. area where she worked for the Smithsonian Institute. While there she met her husband to be, Maurice L. Holmes of Highlandville, MO. They moved to Springfield, MO and were married at Grace United Methodist Church on September 12, 1945.     Christopher T. Brashear, 45, passed away on February 26, 2019. He was born in Springfield, MO on February 2, 1974 to Larry and Linda (Sosebee) Brashear. He was a talented bass guitar musician and had played bass since junior high school. He played with several local bands including the Groove Tube and the Smart Fellers Band.
