Jacqueline L “Pete” Lawson, age 77 of Springfield passed away Monday, December 31, 2018 in her home. Jackie was born October 24, 1941 in Stockton, CA to Dwight & Cornelia “Neal” (Davis) Lawson.
Jackie attended Strafford High School. At 17 she married and moved to California where she worked as an executive secretary. In 1971 Jackie gave birth to daughter Dominique. She raised Dominique to be a strong and independent woman such as herself. They returned to Springfield in 1990. Jackie worked as a secretary and for the Springfield Public School System.
Jackie was always ready to go dancing; during her last hospital stay she taught a hospital attendant how to two-step. She loved a good mystery, betting on the horses and traveling to places such as Paris, Rome, Monte Carlo, and cruising the Caribbean with Dominique. Jackie found peace and tranquility in the sound of water; from crashing waves to a trickling fountain.
Jackie was a strong willed, independent woman who wasn’t afraid to take chances and would prove you wrong if you told her she couldn’t do something. Jackie celebrated her successes and accepted her failures. Her family and friends have fond memories of her spontaneity and wild dreams.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents
